Since beginning his legal career in 1997, Jeffrey Lee Dauer has dedicated his practice to protecting the rights of injured workers throughout California. Early in his career, Mr. Dauer played a key role in one of the most significant workers’ compensation undertakings in state history. Working alongside renowned attorney Timothy A. Larson, he helped litigate the consolidated Lockheed Martin workers’ compensation cases, representing thousands of employees exposed to toxic conditions at their workplace. These landmark cases involved serious and life-threatening conditions, including cancer, and resulted in critical victories for affected workers.

Throughout his career, Mr. Dauer has continued to achieve justice for those injured on the job. His passion for advocacy and tireless pursuit of favorable outcomes have led to numerous published decisions and the creation of case law that continues to shape the landscape of workers’ compensation in California.

Mark V. Larson is a partner at Larson, Larson & Dauer, ALC, where he represents injured workers and employees throughout Southern California. A highly regarded litigation attorney, Mark has built his practice around a simple principle: every client deserves an attorney who is personally invested in their case and prepared to fight for the best possible result.

Mark comes from a family of attorneys and was exposed to the legal profession at an unusually young age. Raised in Camarillo, California, he grew up watching insurance companies and large employers deny rightful claims to hardworking people — an experience that shaped his drive to represent the underdog. He began working at a law firm at just 17 years old and has spent virtually his entire professional life learning how to advocate for people facing powerful insurance companies, corporations, and their attorneys.

Before focusing his practice on workers’ compensation and employment law, Mark worked in civil litigation at his step-brother’s prominent personal injury firm, Carpenter, Zuckerman & Rowley, LLP. There, he gained extensive experience with complex and catastrophic injury cases, including traumatic brain injuries, medical malpractice, amputations, and other permanently disabling conditions. That background continues to shape the way he approaches serious workers’ compensation cases today.

After becoming a California attorney, Mark joined his uncle, Timothy A. Larson, who became his mentor in workers’ compensation law. Combining that mentorship with his background in complex civil litigation, Mark developed an approach that is both highly personal and relentlessly focused on maximizing the value of each client’s case.

Mark believes that injured workers are too often at a significant disadvantage when dealing with insurance companies and large employers. Insurance carriers handle thousands of claims and have teams of professionals dedicated to minimizing what they pay. Mark believes the person on the other side deserves an advocate who is equally committed to protecting their interests.

For that reason, Mark has deliberately focused on providing individualized representation rather than treating clients like case numbers. He takes the time to understand not only the injury, but also how it has affected the client’s career, finances, family, and future. His philosophy is straightforward: prepare every case thoroughly, understand its full value, and never allow an insurance company to dictate what an injured client deserves.

Mark is particularly experienced in cases involving catastrophic and life-altering injuries, including amputations, traumatic brain injuries, severe burns, toxic exposure, smoke inhalation, cancer, post-traumatic stress injuries, and serious orthopedic conditions.

Mark’s work has earned recognition from numerous legal organizations. His honors have included selections and recognition from Super Lawyers, the American Academy of Attorneys, the American Institute of Law, and the American Institute of Legal Advocates, including recognition among leading workers’ compensation attorneys and attorneys under 40.

He recently joined the California Applicant Attorneys’ Association Educational Committee, where he helps educate other workers’ compensation attorneys across the state. He has also been interviewed and discussed by Forbes and other national and regional media outlets.

For Mark, however, professional recognition is secondary to the result that matters most: helping a client regain financial security and move forward after a serious injury or workplace dispute.

Mark earned his Bachelor of Science degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and his Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2012.

Today, Mark continues the tradition established by his family while bringing his own litigation experience and philosophy to Larson, Larson & Dauer. His goal remains the same as when he first entered the legal profession: to stand up for people who need an advocate, take on powerful opponents, and pursue every dollar and every benefit his clients are entitled to receive.

Timothy A. Larson founded Timothy A. Larson, A Law Corporation approximately 40 years ago. Due to its success and growth, the law firm name was changed to Larson, Larson & Dauer, A Law Corporation in 2016.

Tim is one of the most well known workers’ compensation attorneys in the Los Angeles and greater Los Angeles areas. This is in part due to his groundbreaking toxic exposure litigation in which he successfully represented around 1400 injured workers against Lockheed Martin. The result of this litigation included hundreds of millions of dollars in settlements for his clients. Following the litigation, his firm continued to fight aerospace companies which ultimately assisted in the overall improvement of safety conditions for aerospace workers and the reduction of smoking in the workplace.

Tim has also made a name for himself in representing many firefighters over his many years of practice. Not only was Tim’s son and brother-in-law a City of Los Angeles firefighter, but the Larson family also has history of firefighters in family going back to the early 1940s.

More specifically, Tim prides himself in assisting firefighters that have sustained very serious injuries while working, including but not limited to amputations, severe burns, head trauma, posttraumatic stress disorder, smoke inhalation, cancer and various orthopedic injuries. Tim is most well know by firefighters for his trial against the City of Los Angeles, in which he got a firefighter back to full duties after having a large portion of his leg amputated.
