I'm unable to install Atmel Studio 7. I'm using the web installer, downloaded from the Atmel web site earlier today. I didn't specifically check whether I had that update already, but I let Windows Update install all the 15 pending updates there were for my computer. Please check Windows Task Manager for msiexec. But that person did indeed have an instance of msiexec. I don't. I would appreciate any suggestions on how I can proceed with the Atmel Studio 7.

Wouldn't you know, after multiple reboots and other experiments failed to help, the problem disappeared 10 minutes after I made the above post. The contents of the task manager are still exactly the same as before, so I have no idea what was causing the Atmel Studio installer to flame out. If you have clicked on Show Process from all users it would list all the process including system run process, chances are there was a installation running in the background that blocked the installation.
